COLITIS

Thank God for A.M.P. Floracel ! It all started when I was about 19 years old. I had stomach problems after every dinner, every day. I didn't think much about it, just dealt with it. By age 25 I was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis. All the Doctors, and I went to many, told me that I would have this disease for the rest of my life, that there was no cure, and I would be at high risk for colon cancer. They further told me that I would need to take very strong prescribed drugs, (steroids) and other strong prescription drugs, (cortisone), and others, for the rest of my life. I would need to be continually monitored, tested, and otherwise be very close friends with all my doctors forever. The told me that if I didn't follow their very strict diet, and drug regime I would probably surely have to have my colon removed and wear an appliance (bag) for the remainder of what will surely be a short life. They said that because I was young and strong, if I kept taking my medication I would be able to keep the disease in check. Well they sure scared a 25 year old with a wife and two very young kids.

Well to say the least  -more-

Esophagus Reflux:

WHAT IS ESOPHAGUS REFLUX?

Esophagus Reflux is when your esophagus (the tube that goes from your throat to your stomach) becomes inflamed or irritated because the acid your stomach is backed up. Your stomach produces an acid to help digest your food. Your stomach resists corrosion by the inner lining of your stomach and it produces mucus to protect itself. Your esophagus does not have anything it to protect itself against this acid. At the bottom of your esophagus, there is a circular band of muscle that contracts to keep certain things out. This muscle, called the sphincter, will relax when you swallow to allow food to pass but then tightens up so nothing will go back up. During this process, there could be a build of acid and when the sphincter relaxes, or becomes too weak, the acid will go up the esophagus and damage its lining, causing Esophagus Reflux.

It is also common to have hiatal hernia with Esophagus Reflux. Hiatal hernia is when your stomach pushes up past your diaphragm (a thin flat muscle that separates your upper and lower organs). When the upper stomach is higher.

What Causes Esophagus Reflux?

Esophagus Reflux is caused when the sphincter (muscle at the bottom of your esophagus) is weakened, acid gets into your esophagus and damages the stomachs lining. There are many things you can do to prevent the sphincter from becoming weak. Changing your diet and eating habits can help the sphincter remain strong. Also things like not smoking and abusing alcohol are major factors in this too.

What Are Some Symptoms In Esophagus Reflux?

The most common symptom of Esophagus Reflux is heartburn. The esophagus is right behind your heart, so the term heartburn came about to convey the image of the acid burning your esophagus.

Some more symptoms in Esophagus Reflux are:

Stomach acid coming in your mouth
Bitter taste in mouth
Coughing
Feeling like something is in your throat

How is Esophagus REFLUX Diagnosed?

If your symptoms do not improve with AMP Floracel or self help options, you may need additional tests.

Usually a description of your symptoms will be all your doctor needs to determine the diagnosis of Esophagus reflux. However, if your symptoms are particularly severe or don't respond to treatment, you may need to undergo other tests such as a Barium X-ray, an Endoscopy, Ambulatory Acid (pH) probe tests, or Esophageal impedance.

Your doctor should be able to determine if you have Esophagus Reflux simply by your symptoms. Sometimes, in a severe case of this illness, the doctor will take some x-rays of the esophagus and stomach. This x-ray is taken after you have swallowed a liquid substance called barium to help the doctors see the x-ray in more detail. This is called the barium swallow. This helps to rule out any ulcers or blockages in the esophagus.

An Endoscopy is another test that is done to rule out this illness. With this test, you are put under sedation so that they can pass a skinny tube that has a camera attached to it, down your throat so they can see the damge that the acid has done to your esophagus. This is a more detailed test and is used to pinpoint certain problems in certain areas. It determines the severity of the disease and the damge it had caused. Another test that is commonly used for a more severe case of Esophagus Refux is a manometry. This measures the pressure of the sphincter and any other muscle function that is abnormal. This procedure includes a tube going down the throat to the esophagus and monitors the muscle functioning and pressure levels for up to 24 hours.

Self-Help Options:

If you are suffering from Esophagus reflux, you may way to control your weight. Excess weight put pressure on your abdomen, pushing up your stomach and causing the acid to back up into your esophagus. Try to raise the head of your bed; an elevation of about six to nine inches puts gravity to work for you. Eat smaller meals; this reduces pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter, helping to prevent the valve from opening and acid from washing back into your esophagus. Loosen your belt, Clothes that fit tightly around your waist put pressure on your abdomen and the lower esophageal sphincter. Don't smoke. Smoking may increase stomach acid. The swallowing of air during smoking may also aggravate belching and Esophagus reflux. Eliminate heartburn triggers. Everyone has specific triggers. Common triggers such as fatty or fried foods, alcohol, chocolate, peppermint, garlic, onion, caffeine and nicotine may make heartburn worse. Be sure to consistently take Amp Floracel, it has natural healing and detoxifying powers and works gently within the intestinal tract to help break down impacted food residues to help prevent heartburn.

Over-the-counter remedies:

If you experience only occasional, mild heartburn, you may get relief from an over-the-counter medication. OTC remedies include: Antacids, such as Maalox, Mylanta, Rolaids and Tums, neutralize stomach acid and can provide quick relief. But antacids alone won't heal an inflamed esophagus damaged by stomach acid.

Foods and Esophagus REFLUX

Certain foods can be associated with reflux events, Try to Avoid:

  • citrus fruits
  • chocolate
  • drinks with caffeine
  • fatty and fried foods
  • garlic and onions
  • mint flavorings
  • spicy foods
  • tomato-based foods, like spaghetti sauce, chili, and pizza

The treatment is to reduce the symptoms.

You can help prevent the symptoms from coming back by:

Not eating 3 hours before going to sleep
Avoiding fatty food
Stop smoking
Lose weight
Eat smaller portions of food
Elevate your upper body 6 inches in bed

All these things help to prevent the stomach acid to not break through the sphincter and into the esophagus.

What "Triggers" Esophagus REFLUX?

There are many things that can trigger Esophagus reflux. Eating fatty food, lying down while or right after eating, smoking, eating large portions of food are all things that trigger this disease. These are all major things that help the sphincter to become weak and slow, and that is what makes the acid come up into the esophagus and cause damage to its lining.

If you think you may have this condition, you may want to avoid: citrus fruits, chocolate, drinks with caffeine, fatty and fried foods, garlic and onions, mint flavorings, spicy foods, and tomato-based foods, like spaghetti sauce, chili, and pizza. These foods are known to "trigger" symptoms of acid reflux. Smoking may increase stomach acid. The swallowing of air during smoking may also aggravate belching and acid reflux. Clothes that fit tightly around your waist put pressure on your abdomen and the lower esophageal sphincter which may cause heartburn. We have received several testimonials that show Amp Floracel can be of help when everything else has failed.
