COLITIS

Thank God for A.M.P. Floracel ! It all started when I was about 19 years old. I had stomach problems after every dinner, every day. I didn't think much about it, just dealt with it. By age 25 I was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis. All the Doctors, and I went to many, told me that I would have this disease for the rest of my life, that there was no cure, and I would be at high risk for colon cancer. They further told me that I would need to take very strong prescribed drugs, (steroids) and other strong prescription drugs, (cortisone), and others, for the rest of my life. I would need to be continually monitored, tested, and otherwise be very close friends with all my doctors forever. The told me that if I didn't follow their very strict diet, and drug regime I would probably surely have to have my colon removed and wear an appliance (bag) for the remainder of what will surely be a short life. They said that because I was young and strong, if I kept taking my medication I would be able to keep the disease in check. Well they sure scared a 25 year old with a wife and two very young kids.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

I started taking AMP for a variety of problems ranging from neurological problems like fatigue, tingling in my left arm and leg, muscle spasms and dizziness as well as poor leg circulation, PMS and irritable bowel syndrome. What are auto-immune disorders?

Autoimmune disorders are conditions caused by an immune response against the body's own tissues. Sometimes the immune system will fail to recognize one or more of the body's normal material as "self" and will create auto antibodies - antibodies that attack its own cells, tissues, and/or organs. This causes inflammation and damage and it leads to autoimmune disorders. Some autoimmune diseases result in destruction of an organ or tissue resulting in decreased functioning of an organ or tissue and/or increase in size of an organ or tissue. Symptoms may include fatigue, dizziness, not feeling well, and/or fevers or low temperatures.

What causes auto-immune disorders?

Many believe that auto immune disorders are inherited.Auto-immune disorders develop when the immune system destroys normal body tissues. This is caused by a hypersensitivity reaction where the immune system reacts to something that it normally would ignore. Autoimmune disorders result in disintegrating of one or more types of body tissues, abnormal growth of an organ, or changes in organ function. The disorder may affect only one organ or tissue type or may affect multiple organs and tissues. Organs and tissues commonly affected by autoimmune disorders include red blood cells, blood vessels, connective tissues, thyroid or pancreas, muscles, joints, and skin.

Examples of auto-immune disorders include Hashimoto's thyroiditis, pernicious anemia, Addison's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, Multiple sclerosis, Sclerosing cholangitis, Grave's disease, and Celiac disease.

How are auto-immune disorders diagnosed?

Blood tests are the most common way to measure inflammation and organ function to diagnose auto-immune disorders. Clinical presentation and x-rays are also ways to monitor auto-immune disorders. There is currently no cure for autoimmune disorders, although in rare cases they may disappear on their own. The outcome varies with the specific disorder. Most are chronic, but many can be controlled with treatment. Side effects of medications used to suppress the immune system can be severe. Your doctor will ask you for your medical history and about the symptoms that you are experiencing. If you have a family member with an auto-immune disorder, please be sure to let your physician know. They will proceed with medical tests, No one test will show that you have an autoimmune disease. But doctors may find clues in a blood sample.
Is there Treatment for auto-immune disorders?

The symptoms are treated according to the type and severity. The goals of treatment are to reduce symptoms and control the autoimmune process while maintaining the ability to fight disease.
